(this one's for Mags, bored at work I'm sure)
still no internet access at home, that's my excuse. but life has been moderately entertaining. I got stood up by a guy I wasn't even interested in last night. I think that makes it worse. eh.
book club is fast approaching - this wednesday! lucky for me I'm done the book. long done. have almost finished Nick Hornby's How to be Good since then.
Was yelled at by a Hutterite man on the telephone this afternoon at work. I'm doing photo selection for a children's book on Hutterites, you know, to increase cross-cultural understanding? so I found a great photo on a politician's website, but decided to call the colony to ask if we could use it (we had permission from the photographer). got an "absolutely not" +click before I was even able to finish my spiel. It's really too bad.
Am dismayed by BC (and other provinces) refusal to pay for therapy for children with autism. I mean, even Alberta pays for this. As someone who spent much of her life in speech therapy, something that is part of the therapy received by many autistic children, I know that these things aren't cheap. point in case: I can no longer afford speech therapy - it would be a luxury item. I am also too lazy to see if Alberta Health will pay for it though, possibly cuz I've been avoiding paying my Alberta health premium (which I was shocked to have to pay - I only made $12000 last year!!). this rant is all over the place, I'm sorry.
What else what else. not much. am all geared up to vote against Klein on monday, although for whom, I'm not so sure.
life is good.
